I would highly recommend the following books about Self Compassion:

  • The Mindful Self Compassion Workbook, by Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer, Guilford Press (2018).  This is highly recommended for those participating in the 8-week MSC programme. Participants have found this book particularly helpful both during and after the programme.
  • Self-Compassion, by Kristin Neff, Yellow Kite (2011)
  • The Mindful Path to Self-Compassion: Freeing yourself from destructive thoughts and emotions, by Christopher Germer, New York Guildford Press (2009)
  • The Little Book of Self Compassion, by Kathryn Lovewell, Kind Mind Publishing (2019). A fantastic, pocket sized, introduction to Self-Compassion.
  • The Voices in my head, by Kathryn Lovewell, Kind Mind Publishing (2020). This is an amazing book to support conversations with our small people about their critical and compassionate voices.  Reading age of 6-10 years.
